Unpopular opinion:

Most of what you believe about yourself was chosen FOR you.

Not BY you.

Step 2 of the Transcendence Method is the question that changes everything: Which pieces of your life did you actually choose and which ones were chosen for you?

Not which ones were assigned.

Not which ones were inherited.

Not which ones were  installed by a system that needed you compliant.

Which ones were genuinely, freely chosen.

Chew on that for a moment.

The religion you were ushered into.

The theology of guilt that shaped your understanding of yourself.

The model of what a good man looks like that was handed to you before you were old enough to have an opinion.

The ceiling on what you’re allowed to want.

The list of what is permitted and what isn’t.

Did you choose any of that?

Or did you receive it the way you received your last name, automatically, before the question of choice was even available to you?

This isn’t about tearing it all down.

Some of what was installed is genuinely yours, it resonates, it serves your best good, and it reflects something real in you.

Keep that.

But some of it was never yours.

And a man who cannot tell the difference between the two spends his whole life defending other people's choices as if they were his own.

That is Step 2.

Find out what's actually yours.
